natale in palestina

Palestina, suicidi in aumento perchè ?

High Rate of Unemployment in Palestine

DW-Palestine.What is worse than seeing your son turning 30 just laying on the couch without a job or anything matters to do despite all of the efforts he’s done. Over 70% of the Palestinian youth have the same problem and unfortunately, females suffer more when it comes to employment. Unemployment’s main reason in Palestine is related to the endless Palestinian-Israeli conflict. “Four years ago, I finished university with a law degree so I started looking for a job, but I got nowhere. But hundreds of trials I got an idea; to walk through living areas repairing broken chairs. Since then I’ve been repairing chairs, I do about 5-10 chairs for little money every day. I am happy with that; what I do let people sit and get together,” Shaher Raheem said, 32 years old from Deir Al-Balah, Gaza. Raheem’s wishes to marry and have a child, yet thinks it’s very hard soon since what he does for a living is never enough to start a family. War, blockade, and internal rivalries have left Palestine in …

A Country without Ports to Travel

For some people leaving home is what takes to realize how great home is. But for most Palestinians, the need to travel has nothing to do with understanding how great home is. However, traveling is a language that everyone knows and loves to experience from time to time. Yet the sensational experiences of traveling the Palestinians get is tiring and can turn to be exhausting, why is that? How could it be? Traveling by airplane or a ship are the easiest and best way to travel, but because of the ban imposed by Israel which has been going for a long time, neither of these ways is available in Palestine. So, how do Palestinians travel?  After getting their Palestinian passport, all Palestinians who live in the West Bank have only one road to follow; traveling to a neighbor country, Jordan, through the lowest city in the world, Jericho. They have to cross three borders located in between, the first border is controlled by the Palestinian Authority, while the second one is under the administration of …

As a Muslim country, Al-Mawlid A-Nabawi, the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad, a special religious day is a chance for Muslims to express their happiness and gratefulness of following Islam and they celebrate it in simple different ways. In Palestine not only Muslims celebrate but also Christians. “In Muslim occasions you see Christians standing right next to Muslims offering sweets to anyone in walking in the streets and that’s exactly what we had Last Saturday,” Mr. Hadi Fattah said, a Palestinian shop owner.  This year the level of celebration got higher, and you could see the manifestations of celebrations everywhere clearly where sweets were prepared for celebrations, people wearing traditional cloths and playing with tambourines, and special decorations that turned markets and squares into charming paintings.
